Booking Process 1 - Choose a Training Session or Event. 2 - Make a booking with the relevant organiser. 3 - Following confirmation of your booking make your payment by cheque or cash. Payment Methods Payments for training / events are by cheque, made payable to SUARC, or cash. Our Cancellation Process Please book at least 72 hrs before the session/event.  Late cancellations (for whatever reasons) must pay for their session/event as the club still has to pay for school hire & instuctor. Cancellation policy - you must give 72 hours notice, or find a replacement.  
Points Award Scheme - Sections
POINTS AWARDS SCHEME RULES 1. All participants must be fully paid up members of SUARC 2. Please mark your card clearly showing the section you are entering.  You must have a different card for each horse. You must have a separate card for each section. (for example if you have two horses and you compete in 2 different sections then you will need 4 cards.) 3. You may collect as many points as possible per show.                                                              4. No Championship or Reserve placing will count towards your points. 5. If you are representing SUARC in Area 5 teams then you will be eligible for double points.  Also if you are competing at the SUARC Summer Show then  you will also receive double points. You are responsible for calculating your own points.                        6. The Points Cards MUST be signed on the day, either by the Judge, Steward, Show Secretary or Show Official. Any unsigned classes will not be eligible for points. Points cards will run from AGM to AGM.  7. All Points cards must be returned  2 weeks prior to the AGM. 8. All Trophies are perpetual and will remain the property of SUARC. Trophies must signed for at the awarding AGM & be returned 2 weeks prior to the next AGM                9. The scrutiniser’s decision is final.

'Bringing together people who love horses’
If you want to improve your horse & your own riding at our regular training sessions, compete and represent our club in inter-branch competitions, or take Riding Club exams, then we will support you. However you certainly don’t have to own a horse to join our club, if you want to just enjoy the company of other horse enthusiasts, then you are most welcome.  There are regular social events and lectures / demo's for you to take part in.
From this site, you can view our plans for the coming months, which include social events, training, competitions, also talks & demonstrations. You can complete the application form to become a member, and also the details for training & other events, even download competition schedules. If you would like to compete in inter-riding club competitions then just contact our team manager.

RULES AND CONSTITUTION OF STRATFORD-UPON-AVON RIDING CLUB 1 TITLE The Club shall be known as STRATFORD-UPON-AVON Riding Club 2 OBJECTS The objects of the Club shall be:  a) To encourage riding as a sport and recreation, to promote good fellowship amongst riders and to improve and maintain the standard of riding and horsemanship.   b) To organise instructional meetings, lectures and competitive events and other activities to further the objects.   c) To be affiliated to the British Horse Society and to support and co-operate with recognised organisations interested in the breeding and use of all breeds and types of horses and ponies.   d) To concern itself with anything that will benefit the horse and horse user in the district.  e) To support each other and all members (whatever level they are).   f) For our members to gain knowledge/experience and have FUN!  g) To give our members a broad base to work from, with a wide range of activities, and a wide range of instructors.  h) To have a support base where members can get advice and help.  i) To encourage and support the welfare of horses, and training with respect. (Respect denotes both a positive feeling of esteem for a person or other entity (i.e. horse), and also specific actions and conduct representative of that esteem). 3 MEMBERSHIP This shall consist of persons who have attained the age of eighteen years and, having been accepted by the Committee, have paid the due subscription for the current period. Honorary membership may be conferred by the Committee upon any person deemed by them to have rendered notable service to the Club. 4 Anyone desirous of becoming a member may join this Club, as long as they accept, and abide by our rules and constitution, and are 18 years of age or over. 5 The annual subscription shall be payable on the first day of January each year. Any member whose subscription is more than three months in arrears shall have his or her name removed from the Membership List. Any member joining the club on or after 1st January shall be deemed to have paid his or her subscription for the ensuing year. The subscription for the first year of new members joining on or after 1st June will be reduced. 6 The Committee may expel from membership of the Club any member who has breached any of the rules of the Club, or who has in the opinion of the Committee have been guilty of any conduct derogatory to the character or prejudicial to the interest of the Club, provided that before expelling him or her the Committee shall call upon him for an explanation of his conduct and provide a proper opportunity of answering the allegations against him. ADMINISTRATION 7 The Committee  a) All powers of management shall be vested in the Committee. The Committee will consist of the Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Honorary Secretary’s, Honorary Treasurer and all other Committee members.  b) At the Annual General Meeting each year, one third of the members of the Committee shall retire, the members to retire being those who have been longest in office. Those who have been in office for the same length of time shall determine retiring members by lot. Retiring members shall be eligible for re-election.  c) The Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Honorary Secretary’s and Honorary Treasurer shall be elected annually by the Committee from amongst their number.  d) The decision of the Committee shall be final unless over-ruled at a General Meeting.  e) The Committee shall be the sole authority for the interpretation of the rules and for anything relating to the club not provided therein and their decision shall be final and binding on the members.  f) The Committee may formulate bye-laws for the detailed running of the Club and elect sub-committees for any special activities of the Club which the Committee may authorise.  g) The Committee shall have the power to fill any casual vacancy arising amongst members of the Committee, but any person so co-opted shall retain office only until the next following Annual General Meeting and then shall be eligible for re- election. 8 The financial year of the Club shall commence on the 1st January in each year. 9 The annual subscription shall be £30 or such other sum as shall from time to time be determined by the Committee. 10 The Annual General Meeting shall be held in April of each year to transact the following business: a) To receive and if approved to adopt a Statement of the Club’s Accounts to the end of the preceding year.  b) To fill vacancies on the Committee  c) To appoint an Auditor d) To deal with any special matter which the Committee may desire to bring to the members and to receive suggestions from the members for consideration by the Committee. Notice convening the General Meeting shall be sent to the members not less than 30 days before the meeting and shall specify the matters to be dealt with. 12 A special General Meeting may be called by the Committee, or by a request signed by not less than five members specifying the business to be discussed. The Secretary shall give all members ten days notice of the date of such a meeting and shall specify in such notice matters to be dealt with at the meeting. 13 The Accounts of the Club shall be audited each year by the person appointed at the previous Annual General Meeting. The person should be experienced in accounting matters and not a member of the club. 14 Notice may be given to any member by sending it by email to him at his address in the United Kingdom registered in the records of the Club. The accidental omission to give notice of a meeting to or the non-receipt of a notice of a meeting by any member shall not invalidate the proceedings of the meeting. 15 These rules may be added to, repealed or amended by resolution at any Annual or Special General Meeting, provided that no such resolution shall be deemed to have been passed unless carried by a majority of at least two-thirds of the members present and voting thereon, and provided that prior notice has been sent to all members stating the proposed amendment. 16 Members shall be correctly turned out at all mounted club events. Hard hats must be worn to at least the minimum standard with harness properly adjusted and fastened. Hats marked EN1384, PASO15:1998, ASTM F1163, BSEN14572:2005 OR SEI. American standard SNELL E2001, ASTM 95, SNZ3838 1998. Skullcap hats must be worn with a silk.

Retiring members shall be eligible for re-election.  c) The Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, Honorary Secretary’s and Honorary Treasurer shall be elected annually by the Committee from amongst their number.  d) The decision of the Committee shall be final unless over-ruled at a General Meeting.  e) The Committee shall be the sole authority for the interpretation of the rules and for anything relating to the club not provided therein and their decision shall be final and binding on the members.  f) The Committee may formulate bye-laws for the detailed running of the Club and elect sub-committees for any special activities of the Club which the Committee may authorise.  g) The Committee shall have the power to fill any casual vacancy arising amongst members of the Committee, but any person so co-opted shall retain office only until the next following Annual General Meeting and then shall be eligible for re- election. 8 The financial year of the Club shall commence on the 1st January in each year. 9 The annual subscription shall be £30 or such other sum as shall from time to time be determined by the Committee. 10 The Annual General Meeting shall be held in April of each year to transact the following business: a) To receive and if approved to adopt a Statement of the Club’s Accounts to the end of the preceding year.  b) To fill vacancies on the Committee  c) To appoint an Auditor d) To deal with any special matter which the Committee may desire to bring to the members and to receive suggestions from the members for consideration by the Committee. Notice convening the General Meeting shall be sent to the members not less than 30 days before the meeting and shall specify the matters to be dealt with. 12 A special General Meeting may be called by the Committee, or by a request signed by not less than five members specifying the business to be discussed. The Secretary shall give all members ten days notice of the date of such a meeting and shall specify in such notice matters to be dealt with at the meeting. 13 The Accounts of the Club shall be audited each year by the person appointed at the previous Annual General Meeting. The person should be experienced in accounting matters and not a member of the club. 14 Notice may be given to any member by sending it by email to him at his address in the United Kingdom registered in the records of the Club. The accidental omission to give notice of a meeting to or the non-receipt of a notice of a meeting by any member shall not invalidate the proceedings of the meeting. 15 These rules may be added to, repealed or amended by resolution at any Annual or Special General Meeting, provided that no such resolution shall be deemed to have been passed unless carried by a majority of at least two-thirds of the members present and voting thereon, and provided that prior notice has been sent to all members stating the proposed amendment. 16 Members shall be correctly turned out at all mounted club events. Hard hats must be worn to at least the minimum standard with harness properly adjusted and fastened. Hats marked EN1384, PASO15:1998, ASTM F1163, BSEN14572:2005 OR SEI. American standard SNELL E2001, ASTM 95, SNZ3838 1998. Skullcap hats must be worn with a silk.

Booking Process 1 - Choose a Training Session or Event. 2 - Make a booking with the relevant organiser. 3 - Following confirmation of your booking make your payment by  cheque or cash. Payment Methods Payments for training / events are by cheque, made payable to SUARC, or cash. Our Cancellation Process Please book at least 72 hrs before the session/event.  Late cancellations (for whatever reasons) must pay for their session/event as the club still has to pay for school hire & instuctors. Cancellation policy - you must give 72 hours notice, or find a replacement.  
POINTS AWARDS SCHEME RULES 1. All participants must be fully paid up members of SUARC 2.Please mark your card clearly showing the section you are entering.  You must have a different card for each horse. You must have a separate card for each section.(for example if you have two horses and you compete in 2 different sections then you will need 4 cards.) 3.You may collect as many points as possible per show.  4.No Championship or Reserve placing will count towards your points. 5.If you are representing SUARC in Area 5 teams then you will be eligible for double points.  Also if you are competing at the SUARC Summer Show then  you will also receive double points. You are responsible for calculating your own points.                        6.The Points Cards MUST be signed on the day, either by the Judge, Steward, Show Secretary or Show Official. Any unsigned classes will not be eligible for points. Points cards will run from AGM to AGM.  7.All Points cards must be returned  2 weeks prior to the AGM. 8.All Trophies are perpetual and will remain the property of SUARC.Trophies must signed for at the awarding AGM & be returned 2 weeks prior to the next AGM              9.The scrutiniser’s decision is final.

For these measures to be effective everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organiser and all officials and stewards.  Dogs must be kept on leads at all times. All riders when riding, whether competing or not, must wear hard hats marked PAS 015 (1998 or 2011), VG1 01.040 (2014-12), ASTM F1163 (2004a or 04a onwards),  SNELL E2001 or E2016 or AS/NZS 3838 (2006 onwards) with a strap properly adjusted and fastened. Correct  footwear must be worn.  Horses & ponies must be 4 years old and over.  Entries accepted at rider’s risk. The organisers reserve the right to refuse an entry at their discretion, cancel, amend or amalgamate any class for any reason whatsoever. The organisers’ decision is final.
